ERRIN is looking for a new Director!!! (Deadline: 28th February)

ERRIN seeks a new Director who will drive forward the Brussels-based ERRIN network. The new Director will have solid experience of European research and innovation policy, process and a good understanding of the regional dimension. He or she will lead a dynamic and ambitious team who support and work with over 120 members to increase the impact and added-value of ERRIN.

Our ideal candidate would be a highly motivated self-starter and strategic thinker who would embrace the opportunity of leading ERRIN into the next phase of its development.

The Director will

  • have excellent administration and management skills and experience of managing small teams and budgets;
  • have extensive knowledge of EU policy and procedures with respect to research and innovation policy;
  • have experience of working directly with regional stakeholders on research and innovation and territorial development;
  • have experience of policy influencing at the European level;
  • have knowledge of European project development (e.g. FP7/Horizon 2020, etc.);
  • have excellent spoken and written English (the command of other European languages will be an advantage especially French or Dutch for Brussels administrative reasons);
  • have an inclusive leadership style and be able to motivate both the ERRIN team and ERRIN members.

The post offers a full-time permanent Belgian contract with a 40-hour week and 32 days paid holiday. The salary will be negotiated based on experiences and competences. Starting date to be negotiated but expected from July 2017.

The Director will be expected to undertake some travel within and very occasionally outside Europe for professional purposes (e.g. conferences and project meetings) and also represent ERRIN outside office hours when necessary.
