| The Biotech Work Programme 2010 - Draft |
The biotechnology working group focuses on different issues connected to biotechnology, in particular as it applies to agriculture, food science, bio-based materials and medicine. The ambition is to help to overcome fragmentation and to reach a critical mass at EU level in terms of networking, partnering opportunities and bio cluster promotion. The group works in the framework of Europe Innova Biotech Clusters and in close cooperation with CEBR (Council of European Bio Regions). Most of this WG members are also members of CEBR.
The main aim of this cooperation is to interconnect biotech support activities across Europe, create links with regional practitioners and animate regional biotech communities.
The group supports Brussels representatives in:
• Providing coordinated and up-to-date information on Biotech events and initiatives at European level;
• Building partnerships between Brussels representatives from different regions;
• Supporting Brussels representatives in gaining mutual knowledge of actions and experiences from other European regions;
• Supporting networking activities and project development among regional practitioners;
• Building capacity among Brussels representatives and practitioners in terms of European cooperation in the field of biotechnology.
• Circulating partner searches among practitioners on relevant calls on biotechnology and facilitating project consortia.
The group is chaired by the Brussels Office of Unioncamere Lombardia in cooperation with CEBR (Council of European Bio Regions) and Veneto Agricoltura Brussels Representation.
