Objectives and Activities

The Science in Society Working Group Work Programme 2010

Working Group Leaders: CCI Piemonte, Eszak-Alföld Region, Bremen

Objectives:

Cover the “education corner” of the Research-Innovation-Education triangle, including science communication to stimulate interest of the public, boost human resources and fill the gap between research and innovation
Explore new ways to participate in FP7: the whole PEOPLE programme, the Science in Society strands in CAPACITIES, the Social Sciences theme in COOPERATION
Creating synergies between the Framework Programme and other EU Initiatives and Programmes (Life Long Learning, Leonardo da Vinci, Socrates, Erasmus, Vocational training…)

Activities:

- Joint participation in the following EU programme: FP7, Structural Funds, LdV, Socrates, Erasmus, LLL
- Briefing sessions with the EU Commission and Agencies
- Market places for practitioners
- Dissemination among members of good regional/local practices or projects (the City of Sciences, the Researcher’s Nights, the Sciences Centers, …)
- Participation in open consultation on the “human dimension of sciences and research” if considered relevant for members
- Facilitating the members’ participation in ESOF2010 (Turin)
