COFFERS meets FairTax: Joint Perspectives on Fair and Sustainable Taxation

The open research seminar "COFFERS meets FairTax: Joint Perspectives on Fair and Sustainable Taxation" takes place on 21 November 2017 in Brussels. The event is organized by the FairTax and COFFERS consortium, the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU, CZELO and the Representation of the South Moravian Region to the EU and the event will be held at the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic. The EU is currently being confronted with increasing and persistent inequalities in income, wealth and opportunity, between different generations, gender and regions. One common underlying factor is deficiencies in fiscal systems. Accordingly, the Horizon 2020 project FairTax tries to find the answers to how fair and sustainable taxation and social policy reforms can increase the economic stability of EU Member States. Furthermore, the Horizon 2020 project COFFERS identifies deficiencies and opportunities for upgrading tax laws, tax policy developments, tax administrations and tax enforcement.
