The Role of Cities in Building Effective Co-Operation Platforms and Urban Ecosystems

European Week of Regions and Cities Side Event
Hosted by City of Espoo

Brussels │9th of October 2018, 16:00 – 18:00
Venue: Helsinki EU Office, Rue Belliard 15-17 B- 1040 Brussels

In today´s economy added value is created increasingly in collaboration platforms that consist of different stakeholders that share an interest to work together.

In this seminar we will focus on the different roles that cities play in such a platform economy. Is a city mainly an enabler or an active participant? Or both? Does a city have a special role as neutral actor bringing stakeholders together and building trust between them? How is value created to every stakeholder and beneficial impact to the entire society? How are the collaborative rules agreed upon and progress evaluated in complex ecosystems consisting of participants with potentially conflicting interests? How is data managed and shared in general – an especially in a digital environment?

You are most welcome to attend this seminar and learn more about cities´ role in different co-operation platforms.
