The Representation of the South Moravia Region and its partners are pleased to announce that the ninth Science Café, an unconventional open discussion on research in the field of future of microscopic robots, will take place on 15 March 2018 in the Pilsen House in Brussels.
Our guest will be František Štěpánek, a recognized scientist in the field of chemical engineering. His research is focused on microscopic chemical robots that mimic single-cell organisms. One of the main drivers for the development of chemical robots is the area of oncology, and especially controlled and targeted delivery of chemotherapeutics to tumours, along with the related diagnostics and control. Stations in Prof. Štěpánek professional career were the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6) and the Imperial College London, UK. Currently he leads the Chemical Robotics Laboratory at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague. In 2008, Prof. Štěpánek became the first ERC grantee in the Czech Republic.
