The European Office of Cyprus (EOC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation based in Nicosia (Cyprus) with representation offices in Brussels and in Athens. Today, EOC counts 33 members (all the public and private universities of Cyprus, 5 public universities from Greece, main municipalities from Cyprus and 1 from Greece, the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus, a number of research institutes and VET centres, as well as the business and industry community in Cyprus). EOC provides inclusive information on EU legislation, advisory services on EU policies and programmes (grants and contracts) on education and training, research and innovation, as well as trans-national partnership opportunities for education, research and innovation projects. EOC Brussels office collaborates with more than 250 regional representation offices and with European sectoral networks and with more than 140 universities. In addition, EOC is member of the Enterprise Europe Network – Cyprus, providing integrated support services to Cypriot enterprises wanting to invest in entrepreneurship, knowledge, research, technology and innovation. Area of expertise in the field of Research and Innovation (renewable energy, health, agriculture - food, water, ICT, SSH), education, cultural heritage, regional policy, tourism and SMEs.

23 new Mission Cities awarded the Mission Label

During a dedicated session at the EU Research & Innovation Days, 23 new cities part of the EU Mission on 100 climate-neutral and smart cities were awarded the Mission Label for their plans to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. ERRIN is pleased to see that 15 cities are located in ERRIN member regions.

EU Research Champions Sustainable Cultural Tourism

As one of the eight Horizon 2020 research projects included in the latest CORDIS Results Pack, ERRIN's Be.CULTOUR project features as a good practice to promote sustainable cultural tourism. The results showcase how working with local communities and cultural heritage leads to better conservation practices and authentic visitor experiences while boosting local economies. CORDIS, the EU's research results platform, disseminates findings from EU-funded research to drive innovation across multiple sectors.

ERRIN members showcase good practices at ICLEI B@S event on circular cultural tourism

The last edition of ICLEI’s flagship Breakfast at Sustainability’s series took place on 5 October 2023 from 10:00-12:00 CEST , in collaboration with ERRIN and as part of the Be.CULTOUR project. On this occasion, ERRIN members had the opportunity to take the stand and showcase inspiring examples of good practices demonstrating how circular approaches to tourism, human-centred destinations, and heritage-led transformations can contribute to building a sustainable future for all.

Be.CULTOUR peer-learning visit – Policy recommendations on circular cultural tourism

The Be.CULTOUR community gathered in Sciacca, Italy, on 21 -22 September, for the second Be.CULTOUR peer-learning study visit.  The event, organised by ERRIN and hosted by The 5 Senses Open-air Museum of Sciacca, one of the 16 Be.CULTOUR mirror ecosystems, provided an excellent opportunity for 50 participants coming from different countries in Europe to share inputs for the Be.CULTOUR policy recommendations on circular tourism and engage in knowledge-sharing and best-practice discussions.
