Improving the performance of inefficient district heating networks / EE-02-2017
The aim of the project is to design regional plans of action in each of the participating regions, to renew inefficient District Heating networks. These plans include actions in the following areas:   - technical actions aimed at implementing measures to improve the energy efficiency of existing communities, including new systems of regulation and control and, where appropriate, the introduction of renewable energies. - design new business models for sustainability of district heating networks. - study of the future evolution of the thermal demand to the growth of the ratio of renewals and improvement in efficiency. - performances dissemination and communication of activities and project results to different audiences: regional / municipal, energy companies and end users (housing cooperatives) organisms.

The Government of Navarra is developing the project EFFIDISTRICT.FWD where one of the actions is to renew existing District Heating in one of the neighborhoods of Pamplona. The aim is to support the renewal of these facilities to improve their energy performance and to ensure their survival over time. The global actions to carry out this type of energy infrastructure exceeded, in many cases, the management capacity of individuals, as heatings can bind from a few dozens to several hundred homes / customers. It is also very complex agreements and the adoption of programming possible works between different homes or buildings.
