MESARCH LAB for Partner in JPICH Digital Heritage

JPICH Digital Heritage
Mesarch wishes to join any research networks preparing proposals for the JPICH Digital Heritage call on the following topics: “The Critical: Engagements with Digital Heritage” and “The Curatorial: Communities and Digital Heritage”

Mesarch (http://mesarch.ucy.ac.cy/), a research laboratory on the history and theory of Modern Architecture in the Eastern Mediterranean, at the Department of Architecture, University of Cyprus, wishes to join any research networks preparing proposals for the JPICH Digital Heritage call on the following topics: “The Critical: Engagements with Digital Heritage” and “The Curatorial: Communities and Digital Heritage”. The Lab cannot lead a project at this point due to other commitments, and thus wishes to collaborate in proposals coordinated by another partner. The Lab can certainly contribute to both extending the network and also shaping a competitive and high standard research proposal, drawing on its Lab members' extensive research experience and expertise, as well as that of the Lab’s researchers and collaborators, in Cyprus and abroad.

Mesarch Lab’s research expertise include: critical historiography and digital research tools; history-theory of modern architecture and urbanism; social dimensions of urban development in 20th Century; politics of environmentalism and sustainability in architecture; cultural heritage, memory and conflict in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean. Having developed research programs related to the above issues, the Lab is ready to engage proposals at an early or later stage, and is especially keen on discussing projects that consider modern architectural heritage especially in areas of conflict, and also projects which consider the ways digital scholarship is affecting both historiography and heritage studies.
