Building a fair green transition - annual conference by V4 R&I offices in Brussels
The conference will take place on 17 June 2025 at 11:00 in the NCBR Office in Brussels (Rue Belliard 40). The main theme of the event will focus onthe role of science (especially social sciences and humanities) in overcoming social challenges linked with green transformation. The conference is co-organised by V4 R&I Brussels offices: CZELO, SLORD, NRDIO, PolSCA and in partnership with the candidate HE Partnership: Social Transformations and Resilience.
As Europe navigates profound environmental and social transformations, this conference aims to contribute to shaping the future through cross-sectoral dialogue, scientific expertise, and shared experiences. The sessions will comprise:
The discussion on the role of SSH in climate policy and just transition,
The presentations of selected social aspects of green transformations
Panel discussion on aligning national strategies with EU frameworks through Horizon Europe Partnerships
Participatory exercise on policymaking for inclusive, evidence-informed decisions.
The conference will be attended by representatives of EU institutions, including:
European Commission – Directorate-Generals for Research & Innovation (DG RTD) and Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL)
European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS)
Joint Research Centre (JRC) – Science for Democracy and Evidence-informed Policymaking Unit and the Competence Centre on Participatory and Deliberative Democracy
These distinguished guests will share their perspectives on how EU policy and programmes can better support just, green transitions that truly deliver for society.
The conference is organised in synergy with the candidate European Partnership for Social Transformations and Resilience (STR) under Horizon Europe, and features speakers from across the Visegrad Group (V4) and beyond, as well as representatives of national R&I institutions and partnerships.
