Cultural and Creative Industries in the European Regions: An unrecognized potential? Message from MEP Christian Ehler (co-chair of the Intergroup): The Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) in Europe provide a great potential for the European Union. Challenges like unemployment, reindustrialisation and economic growth in an ever growing global competition can be somewhat tackled by the influences of the European CCIs. We would hence like to create a stronger link between the regions and the Cultural and Creative Industries. Together with representatives of the European Commission (for example: Michel Magnier from DG EAC) we will discuss the added value of the CCIs throughout different regions in Europe, their future in the structural funds and the potential solutions that these industries can bring to current European challenges.
