ERRIN event: Mobilising regional stakeholders

ERRIN event: Mobilising regional stakeholders

In the discussions on organising a regional innovation ecosystem held by ERRIN last year, stakeholder engagement was identified among its key success factors as well as challenges. There is a need to map, connect and mobilise different stakeholders; facilitate collaboration at the EU level; as well as monitor and realign the strategies. However, issues such as different mentalities or low willingness to engage often hinder the way forward. How to overcome them in practice and engage both internal and external actors? Exchanging practices, challenges and solutions with regard to mobilising stakeholders in different regional innovation ecosystems can offer a wide range of useful insights for facilitating the work of Brussels offices and ecosystem orchestrators back home.

This in-person ERRIN event on 2 October from 14:00-17:00, organised in line with the network priority on widening and deepening engagement in R&I, will offer space for all ERRIN members for mutual learning. Following a short introduction, a few members will be invited to present their strategies for engaging stakeholders in regional innovation ecosystems, including the encountered challenges, activities within regions, and EU level / interregional dimension. If you would like to share your practices of engaging regional innovation ecosystem stakeholders in a 5-minute presentation, please reach out to ewa.chomicz@errin.eu at your earliest convenience.

We will then engage in workshop-style exchanges to discuss the challenges and find ways to: engage and bring together different actor groups, foster EU-level cooperation, and effectively monitor activities. Finally, after a wrap-up, there will be a chance for further discussions and exchanging contacts during the networking coffee.

The meeting will be an excellent chance to take advantage of the unique value of being part of ERRIN as a network informally bringing together a diverse community of around 120 regional and local ecosystems across Europe.
