The future of rail transport for European regions: challenges and perspectives beyond 2020

The initiative “The future of rail transport for European regions: challenges and perspectives beyond 2020” will be held on 18 December, from 9:00 to 12:30, at Emilia-Romagna Delegation premises – rue Montoyer 21, Brussels.

By bringing together European institutions, networks and logistics experts and stakeholders, the workshop aims at fostering a discussion on policies and instrument to strengthen rail freight transport in the light of the new programming period 2021-2027 and to present the intermodal cluster of Emilia Romagna Region ER.I.C. promoted by the Emilia Romagna Region with eight transport and logistic platforms in the region. 

Specifically, it will debate the ways to further support the development of freight transport infrastructures along the TEN-T corridors, the main lines of technological innovation required for the network's railway nodes, as well as how to accompany internationalization and reskilling and training initiatives. The meeting will also explore the potentials of networking cluster of logistic operators at EU level.

The event is organised in collaboration with ER.I.C Emilia-Romagna Intermodal Cluster and with the support of the Newbrain Project - Nodes Enhancing Waterway bridging Adriatic-Ionian Network - funded by Interreg Adrion programme.
