The Nature Restoration Law: restoration of marine and freshwater ecosystems
With the Nature Restoration Law adopted this year by all EU Member States, the coming year will mark the start of early stages of implementation. Many of the law's objectives pertain to marine conservation, with articles 4 and 5 focusing on setting restoration targets for marine and freshwater ecosystems.
The next meeting of ERRIN's Blue Economy Working Group will explore the Nature Restoration Law, including its concrete implications for local and regional authorities. This sets the foundation for a deeper dive into the specific provisions of the law concerning marine ecosystems and rivers. Since the successful implementation of the Nature Restoration Law relies on the efforts of regional and local actors, two experts actively working in the fields of marine ecosystems and rivers, will provide guidance on the practical steps necessary for local-level implementation.
This information meetingwill take on 17 October from 14:00-15:30 place at ERRIN's office, located on Rue du Luxembourg 3 (8th floor).
