2018 marks 30 years of EU Cohesion Policy, and 28 years since the development of European Territorial Cooperation. Territorial and inter-regional cooperation is vital now more than ever to maximise the scope of joint regional projects and delivering the desired impact of European engagement. Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales have used inter-regional cooperation to focus on areas of potential growth, working in collaboration with our EU partner regions in areas of complementary strength. They recognise the value that this cooperation has brought and continues to bring to them and their partners, beyond funding - in terms of sharing knowledge, developing expertise and expanding networks for learning and influence to support new opportunities for growth in our respective geographical area. Scotland House Brussels, the Office of the Northern Ireland Executive Brussels and the Welsh Government Brussels office in partnership with the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) would like to invite you to an afternoon of reflection and discussion on the value of regional collaboration and partnership.  Linda Stewart, Director of European and International Development at the University of the Highlands and Islands, the Ireland-Wales Celtic Advanced Life Sciences Innovation Network (CALIN) and Dr John Moore, Principal Lecturer at South West College, Northern Ireland will present their personal reflections on the value this cooperation has brought to Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. They will share their views, expertise and experiences with their European partners. Referencing future policies and reflecting on past engagements, the discussion will centre on a long history of European engagement between different partners and looks to the future continuation of these successful and beneficial partnerships.
