The first Smart Specialisation WG meeting for 2020 will take place on 19th March between 9:30-11:30 at the Helsinki EU Office, located on Rue Guimard 7, 1040 Brussels.

This meeting will give an update on Component 5 and its state of play. The aim of the meeting is to emphasise the importance of Component 5 for regions towards the European Commission. Marek Przeor from DG REGIO will give an update on the state of play with Component 5 and the S3 Pilot on Marine Renewable Energy will present some learnings that could contribute to the ongoing discussions on Component 5. Finally, we will explore synergies with Component 5 and the European Innovation Ecosystem (EIE) action under Horizon Europe.
