In light of the current COVID-19 concerns, the event will be organised as a webinar. More information on how to connect will be provided shortly. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
Presented on 19 February, the communication A European strategy for data identifies mobility as one of the strategic sectors for which the Commission wants to establish a common European data space. The aim of the Commission is to position Europe at the forefront of the development of an intelligent transport system. This common data space would facilitate access, pooling and sharing of data from existing and future transport and mobility databases. In addition, the communication Shaping Europe’s Digital Future, presented on the same day as the data strategy, also confirms the Commission’s intention to develop 5G corridors for connected and automated mobility (2021-2030), including rail corridors (2021-2023).
In this event, we will be joined by speakers from DG MOVE to discuss the initiatives put forward by the Commission. What do these strategies mean for regions and their innovation ecosystems? What are the challenges and opportunities for innovation in transport-related data-sharing and connectivity?
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 1 April, 15.00-17.00.
