WIRE 2018 - Week of Innovative Regions in Europe

WIRE, the Week of Innovative Regions in Europe, brings together regional, national and European innovation experts and stakeholders, including public organisations, policymakers, research communities and enterprises. This year, the conference will be organised during the first week of the Austrian EU Council Presidency on 4-6 July in Innsbruck. As the conference takes place shortly after the proposals for the post 2020 EU instruments, WIRE 2018 will include intensive debates on the new Horizon Europe proposal. In addition to policy outlook the thematic sessions will focus on three smart choices for regional ecosystems of innovation: Science & Research, Entrepreneurship and Connectivity. During the WIRE conference,ERRIN and Auvergne Rhone Alpes will host a session on “Cooperation between regional innovation ecosystems: inspiration from Alpine Regions”. The session will take place on 5 July, 16.00-17.30 and will focus on how to use EU policies and instruments in a coordinated manner, across governance levels, to support transformation towards resilient, inclusive and sustainable growth at territorial level. The event will highlight the importance of interregional cooperation and makes proposals for further synergy and better coordination between the different programmes and instruments.   To register for the WIRE conference as well as for the ERRIN session, please click here.
