YERUN Dialogue on Graduate Employability

YERUN Dialogue on Graduate Employability

In a moment of reflection on the future of universities in Europe and ahead of the EC Communication on the future ERA and EEA, it is high time to talk about the employability of students and early career researchers. Universities are and should remain safe havens for intellectual pursuit and creative thought, but when students, parents and taxpayers make an investment in graduates' professional future, as they develop expectations on employability which must also be met. Finding the right balance requires consideration, dialogue and debate with all stakeholders involved.

In the framework of our YERUN Working Group on Graduate Employability, we have collected a series of good practices implemented at the YERUN member institutions to foster the employability of students and early career researchers. With this event, we wish to bring such examples to the attention of EU policy-makers and other stakeholders in the field of higher education, in order to exchange ideas, learn from each other and trigger a wider European discussion on the future of our graduates. Representatives from DG EAC and DG RTD, Eurodoc, ESN, LinkedIn, as well as students and representatives from the YERUN members will join the discussion on the challenges that graduate employability faces in today's fast-changing world.

Can we, together, create a brighter future for our graduates?
