Matchmaking Horizon Europe - Cluster 5

Smart Energy Alliance (SEA) partnership, linked to energy and mobility, the European Commission's Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and the French national contact points are organising a matchmaking on Cluster 5 destinations 2,3 and 6. EU Missions Info Days 2024

On 25 and 26 April, the European Commission is organising Info Days dedicated to the EU Missions 2024 calls for proposals. The event will provide potential applicants with information on the new topics included in the EU Missions work programme 2024 under Horizon Europe. An update on the implementation of each Mission will also be provided.

Live info session on Destination New European Bauhaus 2024

Following the adoption of the NEB Facility, the first multi-annual budget support tool for the New European Bauhaus from 2025 to 2027, the amended work programme of Horizon Europe for 2024 will now include the Destination New European Bauhaus with a budget of €20 million to prepare the ground for the implementation of the New European Bauhaus Facility 2025-2027. An info session will be held online on 26 April from 15:00-16:00.

How can heritage skills unlock the full potential of European regions?

In this online webinar, the CHARTER project will explore how heritage skills can unlock the potential of European regions. It will present the findings of six regional case studies on regional cultural heritage ecosystems, five coming from ERRIN members, showcasing how to better align the education and training offer with the labour market needs to equip future-ready skills and traditional heritage skills. The webinar will take place on 26 April from 14:00-15:00.

Humanities in Space: Challenges and Opportunities

Space exploration is an area of research traditionally associated with science and technology. However, many key questions regarding space also concern social sciences and humanities, as space activities have clear social, cultural, and economic impacts on our societies. The Beyond UNIVERSEH event will explore the importance of the humanities for space research with experts on 29 April from 13:30-17:30 at the offices of the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the EU.

Webinar: Mapping of 15-minute city practices

This webinar will present the results of a mapping of 100 cities and their 400+ practices connected to the wider realm of 15-minute policies, as well as a deep dive into six case studies from across Europe. The mapping has been conducted as part of the 15-minute City Transition Pathway of the Driving Urban Transitions Partnership, aiming to build an informed perspective on the vast range of practical definitions, strategies, instruments, experiences of implementation, and needs for research and innovation. The webinar will take place on 30 April between 14:00-16:00 CEST.

The European Year of Skills: What Comes Next?

On 30 April, the European Commission is organising the “The European Year of Skills: what comes next?” conference that will look back at the learnings of the EU Year of Skills. It will also be an important milestone to reflect on the road ahead. The conference will feature prominent political and stakeholder panels, inspiring speeches, insightful conversations, and interactive discussion groups on specific topics.

Informal networking event with Mobile Heights

Mobile Heights is a non-profit ICT cluster organisation and networking community promoting innovation and growth in the digital world by connecting business, academia and society. The event will take place on 6 May 17:30-19:30.

Culture for Resilience Forum 2024

The Culture for Resilience Forum 2024, an event focusing on the role of culture in societal resilience and community strengthening, is set to take place in Jakobstad, Finland, on 7-8 May, 2024. Pre-registration is now open.

Navigating ERRIN’s Project Development Tool – Training session

With the recent launch of its Project Development Tool (PDT), ERRIN is organising a training session for its members and stakeholders based in the regions to leverage its full potential. The session will take place online on Tuesday 7 May 2024 from 14:00 to 15:00. 

Risks and Solutions: How climate change is impacting our water and health

The EEA will release a report on 15 May titled "Responding to climate change impacts on human health in Europe: focus on floods, droughts and water quality". The report, produced under the European Climate and Health Observatory, aims to help policymakers understand the effects of floods, droughts, and water quality on human health due to climate change.

Skills in the health sector: Health WG

The Health Working Group meeting will update colleagues on the European Commission’s initiatives linked to staff and skills shortages and training and up-skilling of the health workforce, exploring how regions and their health and innovation ecosystems can be involved in these initiatives. The event will take place at the ERRIN offices on 15 May from 14:30-16:00.

Representation of the South Moravian Region and its partners are pleased to invite you to Science Café with Luděk Hynčík, an unconventional open discussion this time focusing on the theme of Human body modelling.  Our guest will be Luděk Hynčík, the Vice-Rector for Research and Development and vice director of the New Technologies – Research Centre at the University of West Bohemia. He is also vice president of the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies (FISITA) and Visiting Professor at the Tianjin University of Science & Technology, China.

Robotics Brokerage Day 2017

The Robotics Information and Brokerage event organised by SPARC will bring people from the robotics field together to explore the new 2018-2020 work programme and in particular the call for Robotics Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH). Please note, that the Robotics part of the H2020 Work Programme in 2018 is only calling for networks of Digital Innovation Hubs in the selected Priority Areas (and a Coordination and Support Action), but not for any Research and Innovation Action (RIA) focusing on core technologies.

Financing the Circular Bioeconomy

An EIB study, published in June 2017 (link to study), identified funding gaps in two key areas of the Bioeconomy (the bio-based industries and the blue economy) and proposed a number of recommendations - one of them being to consider the creation of a thematic investment platform. This Investment Platform will receive financial support from the EU budget and its purpose will be to mobilise additional public and private investors to invest in the Bioeconomy.

International Cooperation on Research and Innovation

Blue Circular Economy WG

The next BIO and BIG joint WG will take place on 15th September and will focus on blue circular economy. We are very pleased to welcome, Dario Dubolino, DG mare A2, introducing the meeting with an overview over the Circular Blue Economy. The meeting will be dedicated to innovative technologies/methods/products and research on how to maximise and protect marine resources. We will begin with a presentatin by DG RTD to describe the European framework, regulations and state of play in the blue circular economy.
