Horizon Europe info day - WIDERA Work Programme 2023-2025

The Commission is organising an info day on the Widening participation and strengthening the European Research Area (WIDERA) Work Programme 2023-2025 under Horizon Europe. The event will take place online on 22 April from 9:30 CEST, aiming to inform interested applicants about new ERA call topics.

Evaluating the societal innovation impact of R&I: learnings from Horizon 2020 and looking forward to FP10

This forthcoming SEFS Working Group meeting on Monday, 22 April, is dedicated to the outcomes of the Ex post-evaluation of Horizon 2020 was published on 29 January 2024. It will discuss the impact of Horizon 2020 funding for social innovation and look forward to FP10. The aim of the meeting is to foster a better understanding of what worked well and what the remaining challenges are.

4th Africa-Europe Science Collaboration Forum

The 4th AERAP Africa-Europe Science Collaboration Forum, set to take place from 22-24 April 2024, embodies the spirit of the European Union’s Science and Development agendas and the collaborative ethos of the Team Europe initiative. This Forum is poised to serve as a dynamic platform, emphasising the critical role of science and digital innovation in shaping EU policies towards Africa and placing African scientific leadership at the centre of these, mirroring the synergistic approach that Team Europe champions. By fostering deeper engagements with policymakers and amplifying the impacts of scientific endeavours, the Forum seeks to enhance the inclusion of African stakeholders with European counterparts through strategic collaborations in science and innovation.

Regulatory Sandboxes as Enablers for CleanTech and Circular Innovation – EU Level Experiences and Future Collaboration Possibilities

This in-person event focuses on what regulatory sandboxes can provide to facilitate the deployment of disruptive technologies in CleanTech and Circularity. Regulatory sandboxes are an experimentation tool allowing innovators to develop and test products, services and business models in a controlled real-world environment supervised by authorities. The event will take place in Brussels on 22 April, 11:30-17:00.

Policy WG meeting: Role of EU Missions in FP10

ERRIN has been actively working on the topic of EU Missions as one of the network's priorities. As we continue preparations towards the next European Framework Programme for R&I, the upcoming Policy Working Group meeting will focus on the role of EU Missions in FP10. The event will take place in person at the ERRIN premises on 23 April from 14:00-16:00.

The Port of Ravenna Logistic System: A Mediterranean Gateway to and from Europe

The conference "The Port of Ravenna Logistic System: A Mediterranean Gateway to and from Europe" will take place on 23 April 2024 from 16.00 to 19.30 at the Emilia-Romagna Region EU Delegation in Brussels. The event aims to present the Port of Ravenna’s logistic system, its strategic network and commercial links, future development plans, and main logistic assets in the area. The conference will explore a rapidly expanding seaport hub and logistic facilities situated at the crossroads of two crucial EU TEN-T corridors - the Mediterranean and Baltic-Adriatic.

Co-creation and citizen engagement in EU Missions Workshop

ERRIN is supporting the REINFORCING project in organising an interactive workshop aimed at exploring the challenges and needs faced by cities and regions regarding citizen engagement within the EU Missions. The project will support organisations financially with specific training, capacity-building sessions, mentoring opportunities and peer learning. The workshop will be organised on 23 April between 11:30-13:00 at ERRIN’s office.

Info days on the LIFE 2024 calls 

The Info Days on the LIFE 2024 calls for proposals will take place from 23 to 26 April. Registration is open until 8 April. These info days will guide potential applicants through the new calls for proposals, the priority themes for 2024 and the four LIFE sub-programmes.

Webinar on City Labs as positive engines for energy transition

On 24 April, the oPEN Lab project, in collaboration with ENoLL, is organising an online session to explore the barriers and drivers for using energy communities as tools for energy transition in urban environments. The event will take place online, on April 24 at 10:00-12:00.

Representation of the South Moravian Region and its partners are pleased to invite you to Science Café with Luděk Hynčík, an unconventional open discussion this time focusing on the theme of Human body modelling.  Our guest will be Luděk Hynčík, the Vice-Rector for Research and Development and vice director of the New Technologies – Research Centre at the University of West Bohemia. Robotics Brokerage Day 2017

The Robotics Information and Brokerage event organised by SPARC will bring people from the robotics field together to explore the new 2018-2020 work programme and in particular the call for Robotics Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH). Please note, that the Robotics part of the H2020 Work Programme in 2018 is only calling for networks of Digital Innovation Hubs in the selected Priority Areas (and a Coordination and Support Action), but not for any Research and Innovation Action (RIA) focusing on core technologies.

Financing the Circular Bioeconomy

An EIB study, published in June 2017 (link to study), identified funding gaps in two key areas of the Bioeconomy (the bio-based industries and the blue economy) and proposed a number of recommendations - one of them being to consider the creation of a thematic investment platform. This Investment Platform will receive financial support from the EU budget and its purpose will be to mobilise additional public and private investors to invest in the Bioeconomy.

International Cooperation on Research and Innovation

Blue Circular Economy WG

The next BIO and BIG joint WG will take place on 15th September and will focus on blue circular economy. We are very pleased to welcome, Dario Dubolino, DG mare A2, introducing the meeting with an overview over the Circular Blue Economy. The meeting will be dedicated to innovative technologies/methods/products and research on how to maximise and protect marine resources. We will begin with a presentatin by DG RTD to describe the European framework, regulations and state of play in the blue circular economy.
