S3 Strategy

Alentejo's Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) for 2030, or EREI2030, is built on the foundation of the region's unique assets and the lessons learned from the previous strategy. It aims to foster innovation-led growth and address the region's specific challenges. The strategy focuses on three key objectives: enhancing territorial sustainability and cohesion, strengthening regional value chains, and improving the skills of the regional workforce. It prioritizes domains such as sustainable bioeconomy, sustainable energy, mobility and logistics, tourism and hospitality services, cultural and creative ecosystems, and social innovation and citizenship. The strategy emphasizes a collaborative governance model and a robust monitoring and evaluation system to ensure its effective implementation and measurable impact on the region's development.

Mosaic

MOSAIC project analyzes the factors influencing land use decisions across various levels and the awareness of environmental issues among decision-makers. It will model future land use scenarios, including displacement effects, to inform policymaking.

Allon I3: Alliance on Interregional Innovation Investments

The project aims to increase the capacity of regional innovation ecosystems in less developed regions to collaborate in EU value chains, by fostering collaboration between different regions, facilitating interregional cooperation.

H2tALENT

H2tALENT is a green hydrogen pilot project in Alentejo, Portugal. It targets 2.1 GW electrolysis capacity, producing 180 thousand tons/year of green hydrogen, creating 5000 jobs and utilizing the Port of Sines for distribution.

The report provides recommendations for developing long-term regional skills policies, enhancing skills governance and strengthening skills intelligence at the regional level through data-driven policies.
