North Sweden European Office is the EU-office in Brussels for the two Northernmost Counties of Sweden, Norrbotten and Västerbotten, that also together create the EU-region of Övre Norrland, and aims to promote the region in the EU, to be a recognized area on Top of Europe, geographically and as innovation leader, and in the Center for EU policy making, giving ground for regional and global competiveness. North Sweden European Office is co-owned by eleven regional stakeholders from regional political bodies, the Academy and the private sector, out of a Triple-Helix perspective on common possibilities for regional development: The Region of Västerbotten (The Federation of Municipalities in Västerbotten responsible for the Regional development in Västerbotten), The County Administrative Board of Norrbotten (responsible for the Regional Development in Norrbotten), The Federation of Municipalities in Norrbotten, Västerbotten County Council, Norrbotten County Council, The University of Umeå in Västerbotten, The Luleå Technical University in Norrbotten and finally the Chambers of Commerce plus the Federation of Private Enterprises in Norrbotten respectively Västerbotten. The County Administrative Board of Västerbotten also gives its financial support to North Sweden European Office.
