The Brussels representation of the four northernmost counties of Sweden: Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland Härjedalen and Västernorrland. The office is a collaboration between the regional authorities, businesses and the three universities in the region: Luleå Technical University, Umeå University and Mid Sweden University. The office covers a broad set of policy areas and scientific fields representing the scope of the owner’s EU-engagement and contribution the European competitiveness and green and digital transition. An emphasis is put on the topics in the core of the regional economy: bioeconomy, forestry, minerals, sustainable mining, green energy, data centers, ICT, a distance spanning technology, batteries and space.

The JPI Urban Europe Policy conference took place yesterday online. The conference served as forum to exchange on the opportunities for and needs of cities and municipalities in the face the EU Green Deal and the Urban Agenda.
The Mid-Norway European Office and partners organise a seminar on 18 November about current South Saami questions and issues, and how European cooperation and development may help strengthen the positions and interests of the South Saami people. The event will be followed by a digital project workshop on Erasmus+.
This session at the European Week of Regions and Cities will showcase initiatives from regions in or close to the Artic already on the move towards a climate-neutrarl economy. Four different projects and approaches will be presented as examples to demonstrate how future EU policy could contribute to using the potential of the circular economy in industries.
An upcoming high-level conference will focus on how the European knowledge and innovation community can benefit from goal-orientated, hybrid innovations, new business models and creative technologies.
The second year of North Sweden Cleantech's innovative, interactive and inspirational energy conference is set to take place in June 2020.
