2030 Climate Target Plan consultation

As a means of achieving the goals of the European Green Deal, the European Commission plans to alter the EU's 2030 greenhouse gas emissions reductions ambitions. The suggestion is to increase the target to at least -50% and towards -55% compared to 1990 levels.

This revision is seen to be a more gradual pathway to climate-neutrality by 2050. A consultation has therefore been launched to collect opinions on the desired ambition level of climate and energy policies. It is also hoped that the consultation will gather further information, such as roadmaps and studies, to assist in greenhouse gas emission reductions.

The consultation is now open and will remain open until 23 June 2020, click here to complete to consultation.
