New call for applications: MEMBERS OF THE EXPERT GROUP ON CLUSTERS

Call for Experts: Join the European Commission’s Expert Group on Cluster Policy

The European Commission has opened a call for applications to join the Expert Group on Clusters, coordinated by DG GROW. This re-launch of its Expert Group on Clusters aims to explore and enhance the role of clusters in supporting EU industrial policy, with a strong emphasis on innovation, competitiveness and the uptake of clean technologies.

The group will bring together cluster practitioners, policymakers, researchers and other experts from across Europe to provide recommendations and shape future cluster-related actions, particularly in the context of the Clean Industrial Deal, investment strategies and value chain development.

The Expert Group is expected to begin its work in May 2025 and will run for an initial term of two years, with the possibility of renewal for an additional two years. Members will meet approximately twice a year and are expected to contribute actively to discussions and preparatory work.

The call is open to:

  • Member States' authorities and other public entities

  • Stakeholder organisations with experience in implementing cluster policies

  • Business development practitioners

  • Renowned researchers in the field of clusters and innovation

Applications are open until 30 April 2025 at 12:00 CEST. Interested applicants must submit a completed application form along with the required supporting documents.

ERRIN encourages its members to apply and contribute their regional and thematic expertise to this key initiative, which will help shape how clusters support Europe’s competitiveness and clean transition over the coming years. We welcome those who plan to apply to keep the ERRIN secretariat informed.
