The European Commission, via the DG REGIO, has launched a Call for Evidence as part of its forthcoming EU Agenda for Cities, a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening and streamlining support for cities across Europe.
Cities are at the heart of many of the EU’s key challenges and transformations, from climate action and digitalisation to social inclusion and sustainable mobility. With this initiative, the Commission seeks to create a more coherent and accessible policy framework that reflects the realities and needs of urban areas of all sizes.
This is an open invitation to all stakeholders involved in sustainable urban development — including local and regional authorities, academic and research institutions and private sector actors — to provide feedback on the Commission’s understanding of the issues, propose solutions and share relevant experiences.
Why participate?
To ensure that a place based approach is reflected in future EU policies.
To contribute to a better-coordinated and more effective support system for cities.
To help shape a policy agenda that enables cities to be engines of innovation, inclusion, and sustainability.
The Call for Evidence is open until 26 May and can be accessed here.
The contributions will help inform the development of this important initiative, which aims to foster more sustainable, inclusive and resilient urban areas across Europe.
