€101.2 million investment for new LIFE Programme projects
Today the European Commission announced an investment of €101.2 million for the latest projects under the LIFE Programme for the Environment and Climate Action. Ten large-scale projects in nine member states will be funded to support Europe's transition to a sustainable economy and climate neutrality.
The LIFE Programme is the EU's funding instrument for environment and climate action, this latest investment is expected to mobilise billions of complementary funds. The selected projects are located in Cyprus, Estonia, France, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Slovakia, Czechia and Spain, and are expected to support the European Green Deal. The ten projects address:
Nature conservation
Waste management
Air quality
Water
Climate change adaptation
Sustainable finance.
