Launch of the SOILL Hub and additional support for the Mission Soil Living Labs applicants

With the recent publication of the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2025 by the European Commission, two new topics to support the creation of new Living Labs under the framework of the Mission Soil have been published

  • Living Labs for Soil Remediation and Green Redevelopment of Brownfield (HORIZON-MISS-2025-05-SOIL-01) 

  • Living Labs to Enhance Soil Health in Continental, Boreal and Alpine Regions (HORIZON-MISS-2025-05-SOIL-01-two-stage) 

The SOILL project, in which ERRIN is a partner, is supporting all stakeholders interested in soil health topics, as well as potential applicants to the abovementioned calls with a wide range of tools and activities: 

SOILL Hub 

On 5 June 2025, the SOILL-Startup project announces the official launch of the SOILL Hub, a new collaborative digital platform designed to accelerate the European transition to healthy soils by 2030, in support of the EU Mission 'A Soil Deal for Europe' and its community of Living Labs.  

The SOILL Hub brings together the growing community of Soil Health Living Labs, Lighthouses, researchers, policymakers, land managers, industry and civil society, by offering a wide range of interactive features including a knowledge repository, an interactive map of living labs and a Helpdesk to support applicants interested in applying to the Mission Soil Living Labs topics. SOILL is organising a series of webinar to support applicants responding to the Mission Soil 2025 call topics.

SOILL Helpdesk 

The SOILL-Startup Helpdesk is a central support feature open to all soil stakeholders, offering expert support across a wide range of topics, including topics such as land degradation, soil organic carbon stock, erosion, soil pollution and degradation, soil literacy, but also funding opportunities in particular Mission Soil open calls. Learn more here

SOILL thematic engagement events  

To support applicants, SOILL is launching a series of engagement events, both online and in cities across Europe. These events will connect prospective applicants with experienced Mission Soil Living Lab leaders through panel discussions, matchmaking sessions, and brokerage activities focused on the 2025 topics.
