Nine cities from ERRIN member regions selected for the Cities Mission Twinning Learning Programme
Among the 24 cities selected for the third cohort of the EU Cities Mission Twinning Learning Programme, nine come from ERRIN member regions. This brings the total number of ambitious cities participating in the peer-learning programme to 80, all committed to accelerating their climate journey and achieving climate neutrality by 2050 the latest. The NetZeroCities project, in which ERRIN is a partner, facilitates the Twinning Learning Programme.
The 24 new Twin Cities, representing 14 European countries, embarked on their 17-month peer-learning journey in January. Each Twin City has been paired with a Pilot City to learn from their pilot activities, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Through this partnership, Twin Cities will gain valuable insights, adopt best practices, and implement successful approaches in their own local contexts - helping to accelerate their transition towards climate neutrality while contributing to Europe’s collective climate goals.
Additionally, Twin Cities will benefit from support provided by leading practitioners and experts, helping them navigate the programme and achieve their climate goals. They will also receive limited financial support to facilitate peer-learning, covering two in-person trips to their matched Pilot City and one visit from their Pilot City counterpart.
The following cities from ERRIN member regions have been selected:
Ajuntament d’Esplugues de Llobrega – Catalonia
City of Ghent – Flanders (VLEVA, VLAIO, WEWIS)
