Open call launched to spotlight local good practices in cultural heritage and the triple transformation

The European Heritage Hub has launched a new Open Call for Local Good Practices, inviting cities and regions from across Europe to showcase how cultural heritage can drive the green, digital and social transformation of society.

This initiative aims to identify and promote 10 outstanding local practices that demonstrate how cultural heritage can serve as a powerful asset in addressing today’s environmental, technological and societal challenges. The selected practices will be published and widely promoted through the European Heritage Hub, offering valuable visibility to the cities and regions behind them.

Beyond publication, the selected cities will also receive the opportunity to host a fully funded peer-learning visit with a delegation of 20 participants. Two of these visits will be organised between spring and autumn 2026, bringing together experts, policymakers and heritage professionals to learn from exemplary local initiatives.

Who can apply?

City and regional administrations are invited to submit their good practices via an online form describing their work. Applications may also be submitted on behalf of an administration by universities, architects or other local stakeholders, provided they include a written endorsement from the relevant authority.

For those seeking inspiration or wishing to understand the type of practices being sought, previously selected stories are available.

The application form is available here and is open until 19 December.
