The European Commission, through the Innovation Radar program[1], wants to promote the exploitation of the research results of the projects financed in EU framework programs FP7, CFIP and H2020, through two European projects that offer FREE business services: IRSUS (http://irsus.eu/) will focus on SMEs, spin offs and start-ups, which are important vehicles for co-creating and commercialising the innovative technologies developed within your projects; and on research teams, often a source of new products that are then channelled through private organisations to the market. IRSUS will offer tailored services, like public/private fundraising assistance, business plan, pitch definition, mentoring, licensing support, etc. MERLIN (https://merlin-ict.eu/) will focus on researchers who want to shape their results into innovations to be ready for market validation. To this aim, MERLIN will deliver pre-seed hands-on workshops and webinars, based on proven methodologies for creating start-ups, in several European cities. Moreover, MERLIN will organize several networking activities and meet-ups with potential customers and investors for scaling up their ideas. Finally, MERLIN will invite selected attendees to Startup Europe[2] events.
