Speeding up decarbonisation: public consultation on the future Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act
The European Commission have opened a public consultation on the upcoming Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act. The consultation aims to gather input from stakeholders and inform the further development of the Regulation.
The initiative aims to boost industries’ competitiveness and productivity, accelerate administrative procedures and facilitate investments, including by creating lead markets for decarbonised products.
The Act was brought forward as part of the Commission's communication on the Clean Industrial Deal, adopted on 26 February 2025. A legislative proposal for the Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act is foreseen in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The deadline to contribute to the Call for evidence is 8 July 2025 (midnight Brussels time). This is a good opportunity to ensure the local and regional dimension is taking into account in the development of the regulation proposal. Learn more and submit you feedback here.
