D4I - Data Challenge on Integration of Migrants in Cities Final Workshop

The best nine research projects from all the participating proposals will be presented. These studies have been selected  equally considering the scientific value of the papers and their policy relevance for local integration. The workshop will be divided into a morning session with short presentations of the results, followed by round tables in the afternoon, organised around the following four thematic lines: Table 1 - Street, Neighbourhood, City: which level for analysis and policy-making? Table 2 - Evidence on segregation and diversity for policies. Table 3 - Residential Patterns, housing and access to services. Table 4 - Multilevel Governance of Local Segregation. At each round table, a discussant will moderate the interactions among scientists, practitioners and stakeholders to facilitate the exchange of knowledge around concrete policy-relevant issues. A draft agenda of the event is available here. Around 70 representatives from local and national administrations, policy officers from a range of Directorates General of the European Commission and expert members of international organizations dealing with the local dimension of migration are expected to take part in the workshop. After the workshop, the selected research papers will be included as chapters of a JRC Science for policy report, edited by the KCMD. JRC Science for policy reports are peer-reviewed.
