The European Commission proposed in July 2019 an update to the EIT Regulation and a new Strategic Innovation Agenda for the EIT the period 2021-2027. The Strategic Innovation Agenda (SIA) goes in line with the objectives of Horizon Europe and contents some new features, one of them being a new KIC set to focus on the cultural and creative industries (CCI).   Considering the current outbreak of the Coronavirus and cancellations of some events taking place in Brussels, we would like to inform members that for the time being all ERRIN Working Group meetings will take place as planned, unless communicated otherwise. We advise all our members to follow our communications in the coming weeks for possible updates on the current situation.    

Five regions involved in the Blueprint for Sectoral Cooperation on Skills in the Cultural Heritage, and more to come in case of success!

Following the Tourism & Cultural Heritage Working Group Meeting on “Bridging the Skills Gap on Cultural Heritage”, and the significant interest raised by the Sector Skills Alliance in the Cultural Heritage field, ERRIN facilitated the inclusion of its member regions in a consortium led by the University of Barcelona. The objective is to develop a Blueprint to address skills shortages and unemployment by gathering information for the European skills panorama, and developing a sector skills strategy, occupational profiles, vocational programmes and qualifications. We are thrilled to launch Cultural Heritage in Action, a peer-learning programme for local and regional policymakers to exchange knowledge on cultural heritage, with a focus on participatory governance, adaptive reuse and quality of interventions.   Cultural Heritage in Action shall empower cities and regions to strengthen their cultural heritage policies and initiatives and to develop innovative solutions to preserve cultural heritage assets. What do we want? - Main task   We want to explore new ways to disseminate European world heritage through innovative digital technology. Our goal is to create extraordinary experiences for the public, and to solve key challenges for the participating World Heritage Sites.  With central issues in the dissemination work as a starting point, we will create workshops with broad interdisciplinary and European participation tailored to each world heritage site. The workshops will work on how to meet the challenges the individual place has with the combination of creative eagerness and new…

H2020 Proposal for Smart Windows Developpers and/or Adhesive Industry

The project will develop a proof of concept, to show the technical and financial viability of a plug&play system composed of components and intelligent modules for interior renovation, which currently does not exist in the market.  This system will consist of panels with highly insulating and lightweight materials, such as aerogel, heating and cooling elements, ventilation, as well as intelligent windows, and possibly energy production.  The project’s main objective is to develop a new plug & build a modular system for building refurbishment which cuts its actual price in half.…

Designscapes open call for pilot proposals

The second round of the DESIGNSCAPES Open Call is up and running! Anybody who is willing to solve urbanization related challenges is welcome to apply for the DESIGNSCAPES call, to which both existing and completely new ideas and solutions may be entered. The deadline for applications for Design-enabled Innovation prototypes has been postpopned for the end of July. The applicants will have the chance to receive up to €25.000 in funding support. More information about the call is available here.
