Smart Cities

The objective of the Working Group is to act as a platform to discuss and share information on priorities and funding opportunities linked to Smart Cities. The WG aims to facilitate sharing of experiences and support matchmaking to develop new partnerships and projects. The WG explores synergies between the areas linked to Smart Cities and cooperates with the ERRIN WGs on Energy and Climate Change, Transport and ICT.

Mission on 100 climate-neutral cities by 2030

The EUREC is organising the workshop 'Mission on 100 climate-neutral cities by 2030', in reference to the specific Mission planned for the Horizon Europe funding programme.  The workshop will consist of two sessions the policy hub and the members' view. Webinar on open data for smarter cities

The Policy Learning Platform is hosting a webinar on the subject of open data for smarter cities. The session will focus on the benefits of measuring energy and transport data, and how it improves the design of measures.  As some cities have made all collected data on public services widely available and accessible, the webinar will explore such examples, particularly from Interreg Europe projects. The webinar will introduce the concept of smart open data centres with European examples and allow for the exchange of knowledge and good practices on the subject.  Register for the webinar here…

Policy Recommendations - Regional R&I Ecosystems: Contributing to a competitive Europe

Going towards FP9, several reports - including the Lamy report - underlined the necessity to address the challenge of turning research knowledge into innovation and growth. To maximise impact and the European innovation potential, experience shows that strong territorial innovation ecosystems are essential. These ecosystems connect different actors (along the entire value chain) to create an environment that allows development, commercialisation, and exploitation of innovation.
