PROSPERO supports public authorities across Europe in integrating cultural and creative industries into regional and local strategies to foster more inclusive, resilient and sustainable territories. This Interreg Europe project aims to position CCIs as a key driver of regional transformation, contributing to social cohesion, environmental sustainability and innovation. By improving policy frameworks and supporting peer learning, PROSPERO creates tangible changes in strategic decision-making and funding allocation, placing culture and creativity at the core of long-term development.
The project will run from 2025 to 2029 and is supported by Interreg Europe.
PROSPERO facilitates structured peer learning and capacity-building among regional and local authorities, helping them unlock the transformative potential of CCIs. Partners exchange good practices, assess their policy needs and define action plans for embedding CCIs into their development strategies. Through collaborative learning and strategic mentoring, regions are supported in aligning policies with the needs of their creative ecosystems. The result is stronger, evidence-based cultural and creative policy frameworks with real impact on funding mechanisms and regional priorities.
ERRIN is the Advisory partner in the project, in charge of coordinating the communication and dissemination activities and peer learning. It ensures visibility through targeted dissemination and engagement with a wide network of regional stakeholders. ERRIN also draws on the expertise and network from its Culture and Creativity Cluster Working Groups to foster peer learning and exchange of experience. ERRIN supports partners in identifying, analysing and sharing good practices, while guiding the development and monitoring of policy changes. It ensures quality learning and helps translate knowledge into impactful regional strategies.
The PROSPERO project is strongly integrated into the work of the Culture and Creativity Cluster (Culture, Heritage & Tourism and New European Bauhaus & Creativity). ERRIN members have privileged access to the project's peer learning through knowledge and experience sharing. The project offers valuable insights and tools for regions aiming to integrate creativity into sustainable development.
Through this new project, ERRIN will continue its efforts to support better policy coordination across governance levels, as well as build stronger regional R&I ecosystems by enhancing collaboration among local stakeholders and interregional peer learning. This new project will connect ERRIN, and its members, to 9 project partners across 8 countries, seeking new alliances for advocating for the place-based perspective in research and innovation.
ERRIN’s revised Annual Plans for 2026 are now available, outlining the upcoming activities, priorities and opportunities for engagement across ERRIN’s Working Groups for the remainder of the year. Each year, ERRIN’s member-led Working Groups develop Annual Plans that set out their strategic priorities, planned activities and key objectives. Shaped by members’ feedback and expertise, these plans ensure that ERRIN’s work remains closely connected to the needs and priorities of its regional and local innovation ecosystems.
