ERRIN paper highlights the strategic role of EU Missions and mission-oriented approach in the next EU long-term budget

ERRIN has published a new paper on the future of EU Missions and mission-oriented approach in the next Multiannual Financial Framework, complementing its proposed amendments to FP10 and the European Competitiveness Fund. Drawing on regional and local examples, the paper highlights the tangible impacts of Missions in addressing societal challenges and strengthening Europe’s competitiveness.

Join the SOILL Working Groups

SOILL Stepup, project in which ERRIN is a partner, has launched three Working Groups to provide a dedicated space for knowledge exchange among Mission Soil Living Labs and local ecosystems, with the aim of advancing soil health at the territorial level. Interested individuals can join the Working Groups and participate to the peer-learning activities.

The European data space for smart communities opens its 4th Round of Call for Pilots

Following the success of the first three rounds, the 4th Call for pilots of the European Data Space for Smart Communities (DS4SSCC) is now open! The call aims to onboard approximately 10 pilots to develop actual services based on data sharing among data space participants, demonstrate the applicability of the DS4SSCC blueprint and demonstrate feasibility of a federated European data space for smart communities.

European Ocean Days 2026: Preparing for Research & Innovation Strategies

The European Ocean Days hosted two key stakeholder consultations on the Ocean and the Water Resilience R&I Strategies. Key themes included the source-to-sea approach, place-based innovation and multi-level governance. ERRIN's Blue Economy Working Group is closely following both processes and is considering a joint regional response. Interested members are encouraged to start preparing to actively engage in this process.

European Week of Regions and Cities 2026: Applications open

The call for session proposals for the European Week of Regions and Cities (EURegionsWeek) 2026 is officially open. This annual flagship event, organised by the European Committee of the Regions and the European Commission, offers regional and local authorities a unique platform to engage with European policymakers, share good practices and contribute to the broader debate on Cohesion Policy and regional development.
