BlueActionBANOS webinar on open calls for community-led actions and transition agendas

The BlueActionBANOS (BAB) project team is organising a webinar dedicated to presenting its upcoming Open Calls and the support programme behind them.

Targeting local public and private actors, NGOs, companies and research organisations active in pollution reduction, ecosystem restoration and more sustainable blue economy practices, the webinar will provide an overview of the opportunities offered by the project and the pathway from application to implementation.

The BlueActionBANOS Open Calls for Community-Led Actions (CLAs) and the first Transition Agendas (TAs) will officially open on 28 November 2025 and close on 29 May 2026. During the session, the main features of the calls and what selected applicants can expect once the application phase is completed will be presented.

Key topics will include the mechanics of the Open Calls, the process following submission, the initial onboarding phase and the structure of the support programme. Particular attention will be given to the different stages of accompaniment and the types of support available, such as guidance, capacity building and structured follow-up throughout the implementation process.

The webinar aims to clarify how BlueActionBANOS supports communities and organisations in transforming local priorities into concrete, impactful actions within the blue economy.

The session will be recorded, and recordings of all BlueActionBANOS webinars are regularly published on the project website.

The registration is available here.

BlueActionBANOS is a new ERRIN project, marking a new chapter in the EU’s Mission 'Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030' by shifting from an initial phase of research and pilot projects to a second phase focused on upscaling solutions by supporting community-led initiatives and local transitions. This four-year project, in which ERRIN and several stakeholders located in ERRIN member regions are involved, puts communities at the heart of ocean and water restoration and is led by the Submariner Network. Beyond financial grants, the BlueActionBANOS project provides:

  • Technical Assistance: Tailored guidance leveraging the expertise of our 19-partner consortium.
  • Knowledge-Sharing: Access to best practices and advanced tools from the wider Mission Ocean ecosystem.
  • Strategic Engagement: Resources to equip blue economy stakeholders to address complex environmental challenges at local, regional and national levels.

More information about this project can be found in this news article, and more details of ERRIN's role on the project webpage. ERRIN members are encouraged to follow BlueActionBANOS on LinkedIn.
