The concept of the associated regions: Funding for associated regions under the Mission Ocean calls

The European Commission and CINEA will organise the online event ‘The concept of the associated regions: Funding for associated regions under the Mission Ocean calls’, to present the Mission projects with open calls for associated regions. Mission projects with closed calls for associated regions will also share best practices on reaching local and regional authorities.

The event will take place on 20 October between 11:00-12:30 CET. The target audience for this event are regional authorities/bodies/associations entitled to apply to the calls for associated regions.

Please find the draft agenda attached. Interested regions can register on this link.

What are associated regions in the Ocean and Waters Mission?

Associated regions are areas with ecosystems that can benefit from the demonstration activities undertaken in Mission projects, (e.g. neighbouring regions and/or regions in a different sea basin) and/or less-developed regions, with the need to build capacity to implement the innovative solutions to improve management of sediments in a river basin. Associated regions should be located in EU Member States/Associated Countries other than those that are part of the project consortium. The involvement of ‘associated regions’ that have not yet participated in Mission projects is encouraged.
