DESIGN & CREATIVITY WG: MEDIA support & the Audiovisual sector

Welcome to our next meeting with the Design & Creativity working group - this time around we will focus on film and the European audiovisual sector!  We will update with a final agenda as soon as we have final confirmation from all speakers, but here is an indicative timing and further down you'll find a description of the event. ***** 8.30 - 9.00 : Breakfast and film screening 09.00 - 11.00 : Presentations and discussion 11.00 - AOB and end of meeting ***** We invite you to join us kicking off the morning in the best way possible with a light breakfast, a spot of networking and a screening of European short films, followed by a rather exciting line-up of speakers (if we may say so ourselves)!  Take this great chance to discuss current and future EU media policy with the Commission, as the Deputy Head of Unit for DG Connect's unit for Audiovisual Industry and Media Support programmes will be present to partake in the discussions, and give an overview of what they are thinking regarding media support in the coming years and important issues like copyright and IP.  With over 80 members in 28 European countries, there is a good chance the European Film Commission Network represents one of your stakeholders. They will present their work, and outline development and challenges for the film and games sector, from both a European and regional perspective.  Picking up on the game and interactive media perspective from the European Film Commission Network, we have invited the Flemish Gaming Association to give us the lowdown on how they specifically support game developers, what their challenges and recommendations for the sector are. Lastly (TBC) LUCA School of Arts has been invited to tell us about their innovative work in the film sector.   All in all, this is shaping up to be an exciting meeting - we are looking forward to seeing you there!  Aase, Anna and Jakob
