The Edinburgh Declaration: The role of regional governments within the UN Convention on Biodiversity - COP15

Scotland House Brussels is organising the event 'The Edinburgh Declaration: The role of regional governments within the UN Convention on Biodiversity - COP15' for a celebration of regional and local action in the global fight against biodiversity loss.

The event will take place on 1 June and will be organised in collaboration with the European Committee of the Regions and ICLEI.

In order to achieve truly transformational change for nature over the next decade, it is crucial that all levels of government and society work together. As part of a formal submission to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15), The Edinburgh Declaration calls for all Parties to recognise the vital role of subnational governments, cities, and local authorities in delivering for biodiversity and implementing actions to meet the goals and targets.

The event will be a panel discussion running from 10:30 - 11:30 CET, followed by a networking brunch on Wednesday 1 June at Scotland House Brussels.

Information on how sub-national governments and authorities can sign the Declaration will be available at the event. For further information, please click here.
