ESFRI 20th anniversary conference: European Research Infrastructures at the heart of scientific discoveries

As part of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, under the auspices of the French Académie des sciences and with the support of the European Commission, France will host the ESFRI 20th anniversary conference: European Research Infrastructures at the heart of scientific discoveries.

The conference will be held in Paris on 25 March, celebrating the achievements and discussing the future of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI). High-level speakers will illustrate the connection between European scientific excellence in research and innovation on the one hand, and research infrastructures on the other.

The event will bring together stakeholders who make up the ecosystems formed around the research infrastructures: policy experts in states, regions or local authorities, representatives of the industry, facility managers and leading researchers. Together, they will explore the drivers behind the development of the rich European research infrastructures landscape that has continuously grown over the past twenty years. Emerging trends and challenges for the future will be discussed as well.

The participants will be offered an important opportunity to explore the range of cutting-edge work being undertaken across the research domains that are reliant on the services provided by European research infrastructures. Two scientific sessions will feature outstanding scientists and young researchers, who will share with the audience their major discoveries and illustrate how they have benefited from the unique European research infrastructures.
