The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) is launching the European Water Academy (EUWA), a flagship action of the European Water Resilience Strategy to tackle the European water crisis. The EUWA is a skill-building, research and innovation infrastructure. It is designed to address the pressing challenges of water management, namely, to foster the building of a modern next-generation water sector workforce while also enabling effective technology transfer and the creation of an attractive, competitive water sector.
The official launch of the EUWA will be opened by Bernard Magenhann, Director-General of the JRC, followed by the unveiling of the Academy. It will showcase the first EUWA Champions and give voice to 'the next generation water professionals'. Moreover, a business‑and‑stakeholder panel will discuss conditions and opportunities for a competitive European water sector.
The event will be streamed online, open to all and does not require registration.
