EWRC session

EWRC session: Interregional Innovation Investments

In 2021-27 period, cohesion policy will count on a new funding instrument. The so-called I3, “Interregional Innovation investment” will support interregional partnerships to deliver investments on S3 related priorities and to reinforce globally competitive EU value chains.

Triple helix collaborations are indeed powerful instruments to address global challenges. By translating common priorities into a concrete pipeline of investments and place-based coordinated activities, interregional partnerships can unlock the European Innovation potential. Public authorities, private actors, RTOs and final users will play a key role.

Capitalising on lessons learned from the pilot action, I3 is intended to scale-up innovation and to accelerate market uptake.

By bringing quadruple helix stakeholders together and stimulating key actors of the interregional innovation ecosystems, the intention of the workshop is to animate the debate on how to use public money to de-risk cooperation, accelerate innovation and unlock private investments.
