Financing climate adaptation: the Climate City Capital Hub offer to cities and regions

On 18 September from 11:00 to 12:00, ERRIN and Climate KIC organise an information session on the new services offered by the Climate City Capital Hub, which is implemented by NetZeroCities under the Adaptation Mission and the Cities Mission.

The Hub aims to facilitate both public and private finance for sustainable urban development and empowers cities to achieve their climate goals and drive impactful projects, through both project preparation and capital facilitation. Until now, the Capital Hub focused only on mitigation projects in cities, but has recently expanded its scope to support local authorities in securing financing for adaptation projects. During this session, representatives of the Capital Hub will present the support services for cities and regions, including eligibility criteria, available support types and timelines.

To be eligible for support, cities and regions must meet two criteria: cities must have received the EU Mission Label under the Cities Mission and be located in a region involved in the Adaptation Mission. Regions need to be involved in the Adaptation Mission and have a city participating in the Cities Mission.

Agenda:

  1. Presentation of the Climate City Capital Hub’s offer for financing climate adaptation projects (20min)
  2. Examples of support (10min)
  3. Q&A (30min)

The registration is available here.
