First Forum of Mission Adaptation to Climate Change

First Forum of Mission Adaptation to Climate Change

On Tuesday 7 June, the European Commission will host the First Forum of Mission Adaptation to Climate Change at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels. It will be a moment to take stock, identify issues and scope out direction going forward.

The Adaptation Mission aims to support around 150 regions and communities towards climate resilience 2030. Regional and local authorities, as well as citizens and stakeholders, are identified as key actors in this Mission. Earlier this year, ERRIN co-organised a sounding board with the Mission Secretariat, where the idea of the Adaptation Mission Charter was discussed.

Regions and local authorities can still complete this survey to express interest in signing the Mission Charter and joining the Mission. Members should note that they cannot sign the Charter without first completing the survey. During the Forum, some of the first Charter signatories are expected to be announced.

Among numerous speakers will be ERRIN's Director Pirita Lindolm who will join the panel on the success factors for the Mission, based on experiences with regions and local authorities.
