EU Green Deal

Food2030 conference - Transforming food systems through research and innovation

Research & Innovation are key to making food systems more sustainable, resilient, inclusive and healthy. They are essential to reaching the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and to achieving the policy objectives of the European Farm-to-Fork Strategy and the EU’s Green Deal.

This year’s event will debate what more can be done to deliver on the 4 overarching priorities of the European Commission’s FOOD2030 initiative.

We invite researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, food system stakeholders and citizens to join us to exchange and debate ideas on how Research and Innovation can accelerate the transformation of food systems, and contribute more to the evidence-base for strengthening their governance. We especially call on the next generation of researchers, innovations and entrepreneurs to join.

Please note that it is necessary to register for this online event. You will then receive practical information for your connection, close to the date of the event.

Our event will take place on World Food Day, which -this year- marks FAO’s 75th anniversary with the theme “Grow, nourish, sustain. Together. Our actions are our future”.

It is co-organised by the European Commission’s FOOD2030 team, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the German EU Presidency.
