Transport WG

Future European Partnerships in the transport area

The two European Partnerships for transport – Towards zero-emission road transport (2ZERO) and Mobility and Safety for Automated Road Transport (MOSART) – under Horizon Europe are starting to take shape. This session will provide information on the definition and objective of the two partnerships.

In 2019, ERRIN prepared a response to the consultation on the institutionalised European Partnerships with recommendations for better coordination with S3 Partnerships and for a new governance model where regional and local authorities are key partners in defining the priorities and calls for proposal. The recommendations, which you will find below, built on the discussions in the Policy WG meeting dedicated to synergies between S3 Partnerships and European Partnerships. This is something that we will discuss further in this meeting.

Towards zero-emission road transport (2ZERO) – envisaged implementation mode: co-programmed
Accelerating the transformation of the road transport system into zero-emission mobility through world-class European R&I and industrial system, with a competitive new generation of lightweight, energy-efficient and affordable vehicles and support measures to facilitate their rapid deployment.

Mobility and Safety for Automated Road Transport (MOSART)  envisaged implementation mode: art. 187 or co-programmed
Long-term framework to the strategic planning of research and pre-deployment programmes for connected and automated driving on roads at EU and national levels in a systemic approach (vehicle, interactions, infrastructure, technical and non-technical enablers, and societal impact).
