Investments in environmentally friendly technologies are one of the main action points within the European Green Deal. Digital solutions can tremendously contribute to making our societies much more sustainable. However, the challenge of greening the digital sector is equally significant.

This WG meeting will look at the twin transition, notably the digital aspects of the green transition, and where is the place on the EU level for the ‘Green ICT’ in the policy context. During the working group meeting, regional examples and best practices will be presented to demonstrate how a sustainable and responsible approach towards digital can be implemented. The institutional representatives will give an overview of the ongoing activities, the role of regions in the process and how the digital policy can be integrated at the local and regional level with the support of the European Commission.
