Join NetZeroCities Community of Practice on private sector engagement
NetZeroCities, the Cities Mission platform in which ERRIN is deeply involved, organises a Community of Practice workshop on 'Private Sector Engagement in the Urban Transition to Climate Neutrality'.
Date & Time: Thursday 30 October from 10:00 to 11:30
This workshop is designed to support municipal transition teams in developing a strategy for engaging the private sector in urban climate neutrality efforts. 'Engagement' in this context refers to the active participation of companies in decarbonisation projects, both through investment and implementation.
Private sector involvement can take many forms across different project types. When crafting an engagement strategy, teams should:
Focus on projects that meaningfully reduce emissions in the city’s most carbon-intensive sectors while providing viable low-carbon alternatives.
Allocate municipal resources strategically by identifying high-leverage projects where limited inputs create a significant impact.
A holistic portfolio approach is essential to drive full urban decarbonisation.
The workshop provides practical guidance on how to:
Develop an effective private-sector engagement strategy
Generate business interest and long-term commitment
Design an incentive portfolio
Explore engagement models for both large firms and SMEs
The workshop is open to stakeholders. Take part to strengthen your ties with the NetZerocities ecosystem and join the Community of Practice.
